ACTION ALERTS

The Canyons of the Ancients National Monument is currently writing their land management
plan. There is language in their draft managment plan that severly restricts climbing within the
monument. 4CCC commented on their draft plan in January 2008. 4CCC continues to try to
work with CANM staff in developing a managment plan that both protects resources within the
monument and allows resonable access to rock climbers. Below is a link to their draft
management plan that was released in the winter of 07-08. The final management plan is
expected to be released this fall or winter. 4CCC will keep local climbers notified what they
can do to help maintain climbing access within CANM.
